Hi,

I think you can use Penci Slider to do that - it support to display static image also.

To config Penci Slider in your case, please do following steps:

1/ Make sure you've installed & activated plugin Penci Slider, if not, go to Appearance > Install Plugins > install & activate this plugin.

2/ Go to Dashboard > Penci Slider > and add new your image & text here

3/ Go to Customize > Featured Slider Options > on "Featured Slider Style" > select "Penci Slider Style 1" or "Penci Slider Style 2"

Hi.

Please, how can I add a widget to my start page? I only have sidebars in widgets and I don't even know what the start page is. I would also like such a block for google ads also under the news block on the front page.
