Yeah, you should do that, if you need to activate the theme on temporary domain - you can activate it.
But, after moved the site to your main site, please make sure you removed the theme on your temporary domain before activate the theme on the main site.

If more than 30 days, you still can working other, but when you edit a post/page - a popup will be appears at the center of screen and requirement to activate the theme.

If you want to work on temporary domain, no need to activate the theme. The theme will allow you 30days for use it before the alert message appears at the center of screen
In this 30days, you can use all features normal.
