We just provide a feature like on this demo: http://soledad.pencidesign.com/soledad-video-dark/ ( click on thumbnails on "Latest Posts" ) by do following option like I said with you.
There is no any another popop for video inside the theme.

Tried it, but its not working. on clicking the thumbnail, we need something like a popup with video in same page

Yeah, you can try with option from Customize > Other Layouts Options > Enable Click on Posts Thumbnail to Play Video

User should not be redirected to article page, instead one should see a popup, when they click on post thumbnails in video category page .
