Hi,
1/ Normal, It doens't affect anything to your site. When you done, just need re-enable it and everything back.
2/ It's Descending.

If I deactivate all plug ins will it cause any issues to the site?
\Also, the only option it gives to sort by post is ascending or descending? which one would be the correct one if I wanted newest posts to show under the category

Hi,
Ok, understood.
Please go to Customize > General Options > on "Sort Posts By" > select "Post Date"
If it still doesn't work, please try deactivate all plugins and try it again.
After it work, let's enable each plugin to check what's plugin caused this issue.

When I schedule new articles, I want them to appear under their category heading on the homepage. However the homepage do not show the articles that are new. It shows random ones
How do I format it so that everytime a new article gets published under a category it is shown on the homepage?

Hey
I am having trouble getting the homepage to bring up the most recent articles within the relevant categories. As a magazine it is super important that when a new article goes live, it appears underneath that category on the home page otherwise it gets lost.
Are you able to help with how I make this happen? it only seems to give me the option of ascending or descending order in date but still doesn't pull it through
