By default, the excerpt will auto appears based on your content.
Do you don't have excerpt on the posts? If you don't have excerpt, let's show me your site url to I can take it a look.

Hi,
You can create categories, add the posts to that categories.
You can check this image to see category page of a category page.
Also, you can change layout for category page via Customize > General Options > Category, Tags, Search, Archive Layout.
