If you want to make 2 columns in your editor, you can use Penci Shortcodes: Columns

Please make sure you've installed plugin Penci Shortcodes, if not you can go to Appearance > Install Plugins to install this plugin. After that, check this image to know how to use this shortcode.

If you mean you want to make a page like this page: http://soledad.pencidesign.com/soledad-travel/category/travel-tips/ - It's a category page and it created auto by Wordpress - based on your categories.

You can add any category to your menu by go to Appearance > Menus > on the left side click on "Categories" > add any category page you want to your menu. And layout for that category pages will follow the option you selected via Customize > General Options > Category, Tags, Search, Archive Layout.
