I never had to before, so it was not a norm with me, but still I should have.

Hi,
It's not the problem with the theme - It's an issue from WordPress itself. From version 5.5+, it will remove all widgets if you change the theme.
Maybe you should check again the old widgets on Appearance > Widgets > scroll down to "Inactivate Widgets"

Today, I had to go into maintenance mode to do some troubleshooting because a plugin was not working.
As one of the basic steps to troubleshoot is to change to a WordPress default theme, to see if the issue is theme related.
When I switched a WordPress default theme, of course the widget area changes too. When I switched back to Soledad, the widgets that I painstakely inserted previously in the SoleDad Theme were all erased. This means I have rebuild my sidebar widget list from scratch.
In the past, this was never an issue, the widgets used for a theme were not lost and switching back to the main theme always included the previous list of widgets.
Not this time.
Is there a way to restore these widgets?
