Hello,
First of all creating your custom plugin AMP for Theme is very great idea becouse most amp plugin are not compatible with themes.
Unfortunetely when Pencil AMP is on Google Page Speed score is lower than without for mobile see screen shots. GPS suggest to instal AMP Optimizer to server-side render AMP layouts. but it's not on my skills. Do You think that may be in future up date You could improve Pencil AMP?
