You can add it via Customize > Logo and Header Options > Add codes inside <head> tag

Inserting Adsense Code in Header

I have an google adsense code that as per them needs to be placed in header. This is the message.
"Place the code in between the <head> tags of your page. Add the same code to every page you want to show ads."
Where do I add this code? Can it be added to the template so that it automatically gets added to every page?
