Hi,
Because the first post is a sticky post. The sticky post will add extra results to the query ( it's from core of WordPress itself )
So, if you want to keep using Sticky Posts, let fill 5 to make it show 6 posts.

I have set "post per page" to 6 articles with the slider on the TOP page, but 7 articles are displayed. Why?
