Hi,
If you want to show custom categories on the sidebar, you need to go to the Appearance → Menus, create a new menu containing all custom categories here, then add this via the Navigation Menus widget.

I'm then looking for a workaround:
- how to display selected categories in a custom sidebar? I can only display the list of ALL categories without filter with your Categories widget
- or could I use your Page List widget? It doesn't seem to work though as it doesn't display anything.
These kinds of stuff would be really useful for your customers, those who want to build SEO silo or topical clusters.
