Ok, I’ve been testing it now for a couple days and it doesn’t seem to matter how I touch the menu items on a tablet, it never shows the drop down menu.

Hi,
Unfortunately, this theme doesn't support this feature. Because a lot of customer will understand it's a bug when their need to touch 2 times to go to a menu item.

is there a way to make it a double click option instead? So the first time you touch it it would be a drop down menu and the second time it would take you to the category page.

Hi,
When you're on tablet, the hover & click event will based on the touch level. When you touch lightly. it's hover. And when you touch strong, it will understand it's click.

the drop down menu displaying subcategories is not working on mobile devices such as tablets. If you click the parent category it automatically takes you to the page displaying all posts in that category instead of the drop down menu displaying the sub categories.
