Hi,

I think you misunderstand. See attachment:

I have categories like this:

- Destinations (the continents)
 |_ Africa
 |_ Asia
 |_ Central America
 |_ etc.

and (for each country)

- India
- Malaysia
- etc.

I have blog post A (for example) in categories: India & Asia (where 'India' is the primary category)

Then I have a mega menu item 'destinations' > category 'Destinations'.

So, in the mega menu, under list 'Asia'  you will find article A. The category name that it used as a label is the first category in alphabetical order. In this case 'Asia'.

But, as you already know you are hovering over 'Asia', it's kind of logical that article A is an article about somewhere in 'Asia'. So, why to label it like that?
I would like to label it with the primary category instead, in this case 'India'. In other words I would like to label it with the country name, not with the continent name.

I tried building the categories like this:

- Destinations
 |_Asia
     |_India
     |_ Malaysia
     |_ etc.
 |_ etc.

But, in that case the list next to the mega menu dropdown will show each and every category. Both continents and countries... that will be a long list and not very user friendly.

The question is:
* Can I show the primary category as a label of the article?
And if not..,

Can I make the country a subcategory of the continent, set the category for article A to the country name only and show only the continents in the list of the mega menu dropdown box?

I believe my idea of using this mega menu with sub-categories is very logic ;) hahaha!

Anyway, I hope you understand me.
Ellen

Hi,

The category name on the top left of thumbnail images will display for each category when you hover on each category on the left side.

And if you have a lot of category, I think you can use menu item style 2, it's better.

I have asked before with the old theme, but I'll try again. ;)

I am using my link/mega menu 'Destinations' for posts in category 'country' and category 'continent' and use the continents only for the list (otherwise the list would be way too long) > check the website to know what I mean.

It's a bit strange to show the category 'Asia' on the top left in the list 'Asia', I guess that's clear. Better would be to show the country 'India' on the top left of the thumbnail in the list 'Asia'.

Each post has the country as it's primary category. Would it be possible to show the primary category On Top Left Thumbnail Of Mega Menu? (And not the one that comes first in alphabet order).

That would be really neat... ;)

Thanks, Ellen
