Maybe you don't understand how the post template work.
When you've applied the post template to the specified post, the content of the post will show on the post content area you've created on the post template before.
Elementor always shows a blank page for the new post content, but it will show the post template structure you've created on the front-end.

It may have something to do with the following step
"Go to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and click "Save Changes" to make sure the permalinks updates for the "Post Template" post type."
I am not 100% sure what this means. I navigated to permalinks, but do not understand what the permalink "post template" post type update should look like.

I've built a "post template" and am having trouble applying the template to a new post. I have applied the "Custom Post Builder Template for this Post", however when I go to edit the post in elementor, it opens what looks like a fresh post. In other words, none of the content blocks that I've placed in the template appear in the new post to be edited. I have also tried to set it as the default through appearance customization but am still having no luck. Any thoughts? Thanks!
