I'm trying to create a Slider for dynamic content for a news site. The news site doesn't have images. Each item in the Slider should contain a headline, excerpt, categories, and the publish date.
The Penci Featured Slider seems like a good fit but is mainly for posts with images. The Penci Advanced Carousel also looks good but is for fixed content, when I need dynamic content.
What is the best solution in this situation where the element doesn't quite fit the purposes its needed for? Is it straightforward to edit the CSS or PHP code? I've not done this with a theme before.
