Hi,

You can use "Custom Link" on Appearance > Menus screen and put the links for your archive pages by years there.

You can get Archive page links by drag & drop widget "Archive" to your "Main Sidebar"

This is only way you can do that because by default, wordpress doesn't give archive page for all posts.

What I really want to do is add an archive tab to the top menu/category nav bar. Is there a way to do that?

Hi,

You can use Archive widget from Wordpress itself and display it on your sidebar to do that.

Please go to Appearance > Widgets > drag & drop widget "Archive" to "Main Sidebar" to make it display.
