Would love to hear what you did to fix this because I'm having the same issue! I'm at creatingwithkaya.com and the video post I'm experimenting with will not play even though the little play button is above it. I click and it just brings me to the blog post. 

Thank you for your help. I was able to figure it out after playing with a new category template. In order for the videos to play they need to be on a latest posts element and not something like a big grid, etc. I now have it working on the homepage.

That works great on the category page but not the homepage.

We are in the process of redesigning our site with the Soledad theme in a staging environment. One of the features we were hoping to have is the ability to play a video that is featured in a video post right on the homepage and category pages. 

For example: we have a video post with a movie trailer embedded from YouTube that replaces the featured image. Right now you need to click into the post in order to play the video. We'd like to be able to just click play on the homepage thumbnail and watch it there while still having it as a post for sharing purposes (so embedding the YouTube video straight on the homepage won't work for our needs).

Is there a way to code this in the theme or by using an additional plugin?
