Hi,
Have you deactivate all plugins ( except plugin from the theme ) and try it again?
After it work, let's enable each plugin to check what's plugin caused this issue.

Hi,
1/ The featured images came from the theme and you can check this image to know how to set featured image for a post.
2/ Please go to Customize > Single Post Options > and check to "Hide Featured Image on Top" to do that.
