Unfortunately, there’s currently no way to sort based on event attributes for all Soledad post elements or widgets. We’ll consider adding support for plugin-based sorting in a future theme update.
For now, please use the pre-built widgets or elements designed specifically for events instead.

It can’t be sorted because the _EventStartDate field is saved as a date/time value in the format YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss, which cannot be used directly for sorting as a meta value.

Hi again. I have tried to use Soledad Recent Posts - please see the attached image. Whatever I do, I cannot sort the events by start date, even if I change order to DESC, it still shows events in the same order.

In the latest version of the Soledad theme, you can sort posts by custom meta value in both the widget query and Elementor query settings.
For the custom metadata in the Small List element, you can enter the custom meta key of the Events into the Custom Meta Options area. If the plugin does not save metadata into a single meta key, our template does not support it by default. In this case, we can help you customize it in the child theme through our custom service for a small fee.

was this by any chance added yet? we would also need some way to show the events and their metadata.. Currently I am using Soledad Recent Posts, which shows the events, but I cannot sort them, not even by custom meta key _EventStartDate.

Unfortunately, the current version of the Soledad theme doesn't support displaying meta keys from third-party plugins. We will consider adding support for the Event Calendar plugin in all post listings in a future theme update.

Hello, I'd like to add to my homepage a widget with the upcoming events (The Events Calendar Pro). Any chance to use the Penci Small List layout? I can select Source:Events in the Query section, but I can't display any events fields (like Start Date or City) and use those fields to order the query.
The Events List widgets from The Events Calendar Pro look not appropriate, they don't use the Theme layout.
