Hi there,

Thank you for understanding how frustrating this issue is. Could you also try testing a few posts that I haven’t mentioned myself?

I noticed something else: when I reload a post (so that I can edit the field at all) and then save it without switching the WYSIWYG editor from code mode to visual mode, I can open another random post afterward without needing to reload it first. But as soon as I switch a post to visual mode and save it, I have to reload the next post again before I can edit anything.

To answer your questions: I’ve tested this in a clean browser profile with all cookies removed. My hosting provider was able to reproduce the issue in both Firefox and Chrome on Windows 11. On my partner’s device (HP / Edge) the issue does not appear.

Could you also reply to the questions from my previous message?

Could this be linked to the fact that we’re using the latest PHP version?
Another possibility is a conflict between the default Gutenberg editor and the plugin that loads the Classic Editor (TinyMCE). It sometimes feels like those two editors interfere with each other.

We’ve tested your staging site many times across different browsers and devices, including new test posts and the exact posts you mentioned. So far, we still haven’t been able to reproduce the problem — everything loads and works normally on our end.

Since the issue appears only sometimes, it may be related to something specific on your device or browser. Could you please try the following so we can narrow it down?

Test in a clean browser profile or with all extensions disabled
Try on another device, if possible
Let us know the browser/OS your hosting provider used when they saw the issue

We’re continuing to check this from different systems and will update you as soon as we find anything.

It has been two weeks since my last message, and I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m checking in to see if there’s an update on the issue where the page needs to be reloaded before the WYSIWYG editor becomes editable in visual mode.

Could this be linked to the fact that we’re using the latest PHP version? Or that specific option shown here: https://prnt.sc/EcbOq0MOU9mA (although I don’t expect that to be the cause).

Sure, I understand that you’re doing everything you can, and I really appreciate that. Still, it’s quite strange that you’re unable to reproduce the issue. Our hosting provider is experiencing the same thing: the page needs to be reloaded before the WYSIWYG editor becomes editable in visual mode (while the image-upload issue doesn’t occur for them). How is it possible that you’re logging into the same environment but not running into this problem? The issue started right after the theme and WordPress updates.

What could be causing it? To rule everything out, I’ve tried different browsers, cleared all caches (both theme and browser), and updated both my browser and computer, but the issue persists. Disabling plugins doesn’t seem useful, since they all run fine on your end.

Adding an image in the Gutenberg editor above works fine. Could this still be caused by a conflict between WordPress’s default Gutenberg editor and the plugin that loads the Classic Editor (TinyMCE)? It sometimes seems that those two editors interfere with each other.

Hopefully you can think of something else, or maybe you’ll notice something in my backend that could be causing the issue.

I understand how you feel, and I hope you can also understand that we always put in our best effort and time to help you identify any issues so that the Soledad theme and plugins work as smoothly and perfectly as possible. However, after debugging your site, we truly couldn’t find any problem — and that’s not just luck, it’s actually the challenge.

We’ve tested everything across all browsers on macOS, and I’ll try to find a Windows device to check it once more for you.

I really don’t understand why everything works fine on your end. Both issues are quite frustrating. I do appreciate that you’re looking into it, because honestly, it’s starting to drive me a bit crazy.

I’ve updated and restarted my computer, tried different browsers, and one of our hosting providers was even able to reproduce the WYSIWYG issue (where content doesn’t appear in the visual view). What could possibly be causing this? It can’t be that you’re using a different version of WordPress or the theme, since you’re logging into our environment.

Also, deactivating the plugins one by one wouldn’t help much, because the exact same plugins are active on your end and still work fine together.

When I'm lucky it works, but more often I have to reload the page first. Could you also edit these two posts and make a video for me?

I’ve spent a lot of time testing this, trying multiple times with different posts, and all features are working normally. Please understand that we’ve edited posts on your staging site over 100 times and couldn’t find any issue. We even created additional test scenarios using custom scripts, and everything still worked as expected.

Hi,

I can no longer add an image in the WYSIWYG editor under Ingredients and Instructions. I can select one from the media library, but it doesn’t load in the editor afterward.
