The primary is not come from Wordpress itself. It came from plugin Yoast SEO
Anyway, we will consider to add more this feature in the future updates.

seems not logic but for certain type of posts and blogs is quite helpful.
for example, when you do recipes usually have a dish in more categories but only one is Primary.
And given that wordpress has this option for marking a category as Primary I think they had something in mind and they consider it useful ;)

That's not logic and currently this theme doesn't supports for related posts by primary category only.

Hi,
I just checked and I see it's still correct.
Please go to Customize > Single Options > on "Related Posts by" > and check what's related posts you're using.
If it's categories, when you open a posts, it will get all categories of that posts and show posts in that categories.
If it's tags, of course it will display all posts has tags of the post viewing.

The similar posts carousel is not accurate. The posts shown there are not related with the post being opened.
