You have issues with the file permission on your hosting.

This makes all the files from the theme can't load on your front-end and make your site broken - even it makes your site can't update wordpress 4.9.8 - check this image

So, please contact with your hosting provider and ask them about this. When the issues fixed, try to import demo again.
