Hi,
Do you want show caption on Featured Image ?
If so, please go to Customize > Single Post Option > check "Enable Caption on Featured Image" option .

Sorry ... The white space issue occurs when a banner does not load. The problem I'm referring to is the credits in the featured photos. Photos in the post show the credits correctly. The problem is only in the featured images.

\I checked issue on your site. You have ads below featured image as screenshot http://prntscr.com/koqqpz.
If you want using image on content post and hide featured image , you can go to edit post > Single Post , then check "Hide featured image for this post" option as screenshot http://prntscr.com/koqqk0.
Could you please me the exact issue you are facing?
Do you want remove space between ads and featured image ?

Credits in the photos do not appear only in the featured image. Look:

\Now a suggestion: The NewsPaper theme has an option on the page to not show repeated posts. It's called "Unique Articles". It would be interesting to put in a next update. Otherwise, home keeps repeating many posts!
