Sorry I was a bit tired when I wrote my original message.
1) Right now, all of my articles are categorized as "Articles" (main category) and then a sub category. Is it possible that the subcategories under the parent heading, "Articles," could be causing issues?
2) I love the look of the home page in the video (i.e. the main image, divider, small image on the left with text, and other items to the right, sidebar to the right with social icons, etc). How do I replicate the design as seen in the video? I currently have it set to magazine 2.

1/ It's repeat because your posts in different categories. So, it will display repeat if you show that different categories - that's normal. If you've made featured categories display above latest posts, you can exclude all categories you don't want to appears in Latest Posts section via Customize > Homepage Options > Exclude specific categories from latest posts on Homepage
2/ I don't clearly about that question, can you tell me more about this?

I followed these videos because my home page to display exactly like in the videos:
And ...Some of the articles repeat which I do not want. I would also like to make the banners a different style/color. On the back end, the home page is set to magazine style 2; please help.
