Yeah, sure of course you can do that.
With each blocks or featured slider - you can click on "Build Query" button to filter what's the categories, or tag or custom taxonomies, even you can select special post, page... to display.

I have a question. I Can't seem to find it anywhere in the tutorail video's or the documentation. But when I make posts I do not know how to choose wich post comes in wich section. Like for example the carousel on the home page. Can I choose wich post are coming there ?
