In my case (not Similar to yours) Ι downgrade again back to WP 4.9.8 version and all my problems gone.
WP 5.0 is still Buggy.

Hi,
Strange, that's a function from Wordpress - have you tried deactivate all plugins ( except plugins from the theme & Classic Editor plugin ) and try it again?
If it work, let's enable each plugin to check what's plugin caused this issue.

After installing wordpress 5.0 i got these errors:
Classic Editor is already installed. I hope, you can help me fast. :P
