Have you tried deactivate all plugins and try it again?
If it work, let's enable each plugin to check what's plugin caused this issue.
We do using the same code for excerpt on featured categories & latest posts. This is strange..

It seems to only affect featured categories. When I pull up "Latest" feed in Homepage, it displays the correct excerpts.
I temporarily disabled excerpts for the featured categories.
Excerpts being pulled are wrong. They are all the same too. Archive pages seem okay. Only in homepage.
