Seem you didn't do following like I said.
Please do following exactly like below:
1/ Go to Customize > Logo and Header Options > on "Banner Header Right For Header 3" > select any image for this option.
2/ Click button to remove this banner on this option - not remove the image from your media library.

Hey. Thank you for replying. So everything worked except for the banner. The banner has been removed, however the text 'banner" appears right where the banner was. How do I get rid of it? And there is no way for me to click on remove banner as you're pointing out. Thanks.

1/ To remove it, please go to Customize > Logo and Header Options > on "Banner Header Right For Header 3" > select to another image from Media Library > after that click to remove it > and click "Publish"
2/ Please check option for it via Customize > Footer Options > Footer Logo
