Strange, I go to PenNews > Site width then change width page at 1170px.
I saw change site width work fine.
Please check it again.

I am sorry, I am a little confused. When I go to the page the change the width and I drag the sides over, I can only get to 1650px, 1100px or 600px. Is there a trick to this?

Please go to Administration > PenNews > Site width then change width container with on sidebar as screenshot http://prntscr.com/mcboz5
I change width container to 1170px on single help you. Please check it again.

My single post blog page is not as wide as I want. I want it the same width as my page, which is 1170. How can I make the single post page wider?
