Add Post time, unfortunately, this theme doesn't support show post time. We will consider to add more this feature in the next update version of PenNews. I'm not sure it will be added but i'm sure we will consider about this.

Currently, this theme doesn't support ads  with automatic loading of previous records. Because automatic loading of previous records use ajax and officially Google doesn't support ads in AJAX based content. We will find more about this, if there is solution - we will write a solution for all customers

It seems that the issue is not from the  PenNews theme. you can try deactive all plugin come from PenNews theme and activate theme default ( Twenty Nineteen ). you will see same that.
