1/ Please install Yoast SEO plugin and update it via Dashboard > SEO > Search Appearance > tab "Homepage"
2/ The broken links need to wait from google to google can update it. The theme doesn't make any link broken... So, I don't know where it come.

1) How do I update the meta description of the homepage.
2) How to solve broken link problems.

There's too much websites to check SEO problems with different points. So, we can't follow all sites.
Most all issues from the link you sent me doesn't come with our themes, it came from your content.
So, let's contact with a SEOer and tell with them about this. The supports from us doesn't include supports for SEO
