Hi,
If you want change code of pennews theme, we recommend you use child theme of pennews
If you custom css and change option of customize, you don't need use child theme.

Also I am not using the child theme, with all these changes i made do I need to use child them? I am not planning to make any core code change

Yes I understand it doesn't support by rate.
But can I have the most viewed post? Not rating just viewed

Hi,
Currently, this theme doesn't support add new order by to build query, so you can't add order by with "Rate my Post – WP Post Rating" plugin

Is there away to show the highest rated ones using this widget and your theme?
I saw rating by score in your theme but I need visitors to rate the post.
So I just need to display most viewed post and highest rating post.
Also I tried Build query -> Order by: Popilar post in all time but nothing changed

That did the trick, thanks. Sorry one more question, is it possible for this block to display most viewed and most commented posts?
Not sure if we can add highest rated and give option to give 1 to 5 stars for post

If it doesn't still not work, please go to Customize > General Options then scrolldown and change "Custom Maximum Excerpt Length" option as screenshot http://prntscr.com/ofk61o

That resolved image (Thank You) can you also help be stretch the content to the right. Also how can I add more content to fill the container. Right now it seems it only shows 20 characters so would like to extend that to maybe 50 characters

1/ Please go to Customize > Addtional CSS then add custom css to do that
.penci-block_12 .penci_mobj__img {
width: 37.5%;
}
you can change with 37.5% to nay width you want

Hello I am using Penci Block 12 on the bottom of my page but image is 2 large and need more content. Can you tell me how I can change image size and allow more content to be visible?
See attached HuffPost as an example of what I want.
