Hi,
Please try add more this code to Customize > Custom CSS to do that:
.post-author{ padding: 30px 20px; background: #f5f5f5; }
Change color code #f5f5f5 to any color code as you want.

Hello and thanks.
Is it possible to have a block of colour for the author box?
In the screen shot I have attached I would like to have a different colour to the white screen in the background with white not black font if possible?
This is for the one at the bottom of the recipes not the one in the sidebar.
