Exporting and importing to child theme

Hi,

Thank you for loving our theme.

To do that, you need to do following steps:

1/ Install plugin Customizer Export/Import & activate it.

2/ Keep activate parent theme > go to Appearance > Customize > Export/Import > and export the setting > you can get a .dat file.

3/ Install & activate child theme > go to Appearance > Customize > Export/Import > and import the .dat file you got on step 2.

Hi there! I've been creating my new site with Soledad (love it by the way!) and discovered that I need to export my information, create a child theme and import my information there so I won't lose my info with updates to the theme. I've exported but it created an xml file, not a dat file. Will the xml file work correctly or is there something I need to do? I downloaded the export/import that was referenced in other public tickets.
